Mr. Matthew Peterson
Greetings Students and Parents,
I am your eighth-grade counselor at River Trail middle School. I am a native to the Atlanta Metropolitan area. I am also a proud product of the Fulton County School System. I graduated from Westlake High School, and then continued my education at Georgia Southern University where I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology. Post-graduation, I began working in the Southwest Georgia area as a Community Counselor. I found my passion in education while employed as a Family Service Worker for the Head Start program. I then pursued my Master’s Degree in School Counseling at Albany State University. While working on my degree, I continued to work and volunteer in the educational setting. During this time, I was fortunate to work with K-12 students from a variety of multicultural and socio-economic backgrounds. I believe that all of my educational and working experiences have helped to mold me into a very compassionate counselor who strives to meet the needs of all of my students. Outside of working as your counselor, I enjoy listening to music of all genres, attending sporting events, traveling, reading, and sleeping. I look forward to helping you make your eighth grade year a great one! |
